Cairns Estate, Kirknewton

Geddes worked with the client and local authority to develop the planning strategy for a farm diversification project (including new wedding and events venue) at Cairns Farm in West Lothian. The site is within the Pentland Hills Regional Park and a designated Special Landscape Area.

The proposal includes the conversion of existing farm buildings to form the new venue, along with accommodation on site.

Geddes led the client through the planning process from appointment of the project team to coordination and submission of several planning applications for the various elements of the proposal.

Geddes has secured three separate planning consents for the client and helped ensure conditions are discharged to enable development to proceed.
